Healing Wounds, Minimizing Scars

The skin is a vital organ that fulfills metabolic functions, participates in immune defense, and protects the body from harmful factors. When injured, the body initiates a healing process involving various cell types and factors to promote wound healing and scar formation. However, the formation of pathologic conditions such as hypertrophic scars and keloids remains poorly understood. The primary challenge in scar research is the lack of adequate models that accurately mimic human scar formation.

Webinar: Medicinal Plants, Wounds, Scars & Citizen Science

Thursday, June 12, 5:00 PM - 6:15 PM

In this webinar, Dr. Michael Mildner, a researcher in the field of wound healing and scar formation, explains more about the fascinating world of the skin: How is it structured, and what are its functions? Why do scars form, and why do some become a problem? And how can we study the effects of medicinal plants in the laboratory?
